Live Sound Performance by Sarah Martin-Nuss

April 19 | 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM | 170 Suffolk St.

Please join us April 19, 2025 for a live sound performance by Sarah Martin-Nuss in tandem with her show, "Future Currents", currently on view at Rachel Uffner Gallery.

On April 19, Sarah Martin-Nuss will perform Future Currents, a live vocal activation of her eponymous exhibition at Rachel Uffner Gallery. Created in collaboration with Berlin-based sound artist WAV.Mp3, the piece is composed entirely of Martin-Nuss’ voice memos and vocal recordings—an immersive soundscape derived from a poem written during the creation of her paintings. Extending her exploration of interconnected systems into the realm of sound, Martin-Nuss and WAV.Mp3 treat the voice not merely as a vehicle for language, but as a dynamic, relational force—an auditory current that moves through space and dissolves boundaries between self, environment, and listener. As live vocals weave through recorded ones, the performance unfolds as a vital sonic ecosystem, echoing the cycles of disintegration and regeneration found in her visual work.

The sound performance will run for 30 minutes. This event is free and open to the public.
