Susan Chen

Susan Chen (b. 1992, Hong Kong SAR) received an MFA from Columbia University and a BA Honors from Brown University. Chen has had recent solo exhibitions at; Night Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2026, 2021); Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, NY (2024, 2023); and Meredith Rosen Gallery, New York, NY (2020). Her work has been included in recent institutional exhibitions at Anchorage Museum, Anchorage, AK (2025); Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY (2024); Rockefeller Center, New York, NY (2024); MoCA Westport, Westport, CT (2024); Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Brunswick, ME (2023); Songwon Art Center, Seoul, South Korea (2023); The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT (2022); International Print Center New York, New York, NY (2018). Chen is a 2025 Creative Capital Grant recipient, a 2020 Hopper Prize winner, a 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 and Artsy Vanguard honoree; In 2022, she was also an Artist-in-Residence at Silver Art Projects in their Social Justice & Activism program at the World Trade Center. Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Columbus Museum of Art, the Yuz Museum Shanghai, and the Museum of Chinese in America. Chen lives and works in New York City.
